Terre Exotique’s passion berry is a pepper with intense passion fruit aromas and flavours, with a tingling cold-spiciness. Crush in a pestle and mortar, then sprinkle over pan-fried sea bass, grilled vegetables or freshly sliced fruit.
Grown in Ethiopia, the passion berry comes from the Ruta chalepensis plant, the leaves of which are powerfully aromatic and sweet. The passion berry is traditionally used to make Ehtiopian berbere spice blend alongside fenugreek, chilli and ginger. Alternatively, pair this pepper with roasted pear tarts or grilled peaches for an easy yet impressive dessert.

The company was founded by Erwann de Kerros, a Breton and seasoned traveller. After tasting pepper in the Penja plantation in Cameroon, Kerros yearned to try other specialist peppers and spices – and Terre Exotique was born.
