Dried wild morel mushrooms, or morchella, are a highly-prized woodland variety with a beautiful honeycomb cap and light, fawn-coloured stem. This pack contains highest quality dried morel mushrooms - grown in the wild, hand-harvested during late spring and early summer, and then carefully selected for shape and size.

Once rehydrated (using directions on the pack) you can sauteé them in butter to bring out the naturally rich, earthy flavours. Top pork cutlets, steaks or roasted squash with a simple morel garnish, or a morel cream sauce. Also try stirring the rehydrated mushrooms into risottos, or serve alongside halibut with a few spears of new season asparagus.

What does morel taste like?

Morel mushrooms are celebrated for their rich, earthy flavour that's both nutty and meaty. Morels pair beautifully with creamy sauces and are often used to elevate simple ingredients like chicken, steak, or spring vegetables.

To rehydrate, add the mushrooms to a saucepan with at least 500ml hot water. Boil for 7 mins. Lift out with a slotted spoon and discard the water, then rinse well in several more changes of water.
