Organic gentian liqueur has a distinctive bittersweet flavour. It’s made from the roots of the gentian plant which Grand Rubren harvests by hand. Gentian is also known as bitter root and was originally used to make medicinal tonics.
Nowadays, gentian liqueur is a popular French aperitif. It’s served over ice, often with a squeeze of lemon. It can also be used as a bittering agent in cocktails. Try adding a splash to a glass of lemon-flavoured sparkling water for a refreshing spritz.
Made with organic ingredients, gentian liqueur is a unique addition to your home bar. Grand Rubren recommends pairing it with crème de cassis to temper its bitterness. It also works well in cocktails with whisky and tequila.
