Description
Shiso syrup will make the most refreshing Japanese-style cocktail. Dilute with water as a drink, add to smoothies, drizzle over yogurt or mix with olive oil for a dressing.
Shiso is a member of the mint family and has a slight citrus flavour. Here, it is combined with sugar and citric acid to produce a sweet, spicy syrup with notes of cinnamon and coriander.
To drink this syrup, combine 1 part syrup with 5 parts water, or pair with shochu for an after dinner tipple.
